debase 20th Birthday Fundraiser Spectacular
Who’d have thought that twenty years ago, we’d all be here, still making theatre and still making each other laugh. Since our first production in 1998 – Jobs for the Boys – a one-night performance event at the Zoo nightclub in the valley, to our 2018 season which includes a commission from the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, a co-production with the state theatre company and a season with Melbourne’s famed La Mama theatre – debase shows have been seen across the state, the country and internationally.
Over our twenty years we have produced over 40 original works, created performance events in nightclubs, warehouses, bars and on the streets. Our works have been seen by over 200,000 people in Australia, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and Great Britain. We have worked with over 800 artists, used over 300 red noses and consumed innumerable ice cold beers.
Thanks to all those who have joined us on this crazy ride so far. Here’s to another twenty years!
Join Robert, Liz and Bridget for a celebration of all things debase – in traditional debase style, with laughter, community and lots of beer.
debase’s 20th Birthday Fundraiser Spectacular does what it says on the packet.
